BAINBRIDGE ISLAND, Wash- Madrona House is one of the first Puget Sound Energy Up and Go Electric for Multifamily program participants for installing EV chargers, and the first on Bainbridge Island with this new program! Our project has wrapped up installation. This cool project involves a grant through PSE and some investments by Bainbridge Senior Living’s Madrona House. Madrona House is a family-owned senior living community with independent living, assisted living and memory care services. We are proud to offer our residents a senior specific driving option for convenience, clean energy and exploration. 

The Up and Go Electric program is just a portion of the updates being made to Madrona House. We are currently in the process of creating eight new independent living apartments, a bistro, game room, virtual reality station, art studio and concierge service, due to be completed by the summer of 2024. At Madrona House, there’s a unique warmth and family atmosphere that makes senior living on Bainbridge Island truly special. 

PSE’s Up and Go Electric program started installing chargers throughout Western Washington in 2019 through a series of pilot projects for home charging, workplaces, multifamily residences, community-based providers, and the public. Last year, PSE began showing its continued commitment to working with customers to create a clean energy future by expanding those pilots into full programs. The charging station at the Madrona House is part of the UP and Go Electric for Multifamily program. The four chargers installed here are PSE’s first senior-specific project on Bainbridge Island.
